From London to Paris and a CAK Reunion

We got an early start in London to St Pancras where we boarded the fast EuroStar to Paris.  Nice train stations, sleek bullet trains, a fraction of the cost of airlines and no TSA to deal with...gee what could WE learn here???

Before we could blink an eye we were sitting in our Paris Hotel Lobby all checked in and heading for the Eiffel Tower and dinner at LaVarangue where Phillipe had prepared a special meal just for us!  John Zavracky earned his complementary meal this evening by being our luggage loader extroidinaire. A big thank you for that from all of us.

After a few last minute instructions we were on our way...

We even had some very special guests join us unexpectedly for dinner.  Jake, Chip, Michael, AJ, Emory, all CAK graduates,  popped in while on their OWN Europe whirlwind tour (now how odd is that).  Jake, Chip, Michael and AJ  all got their Europe Travel Training from Mrs. Mynatt's inaugural Europe Trip of 2008.  It was a special time to see how they've all grown into fine young men.  What a blessing!

After dinner we headed back for some fun time on the Merry-go-round and some down time in the Champ du Mars park before our 9:00 pm reservation for the Eiffel Tower.

We arrived at the Eiffel Tower at our checkin time of 9:00 pm and bypassed hundreds and hundreds of people already in line who DIDN'T have reservations.  I'm thankful for this blessing.

This is where we had ANOTHER impromptu CAK Reunion with Kacie Drake, a 2009 CAK graduate who just happened to be in Paris and had our itinerary and dropped in to visit.  What a grand reunion venue, wouldn't you say?

We had lots more pictures and gawking time at the Eiffle Tower, but it was over all too soon as we headed to out favorite little crepery on the rue Cler for a late night last minute snack for every one.

After our crepes we all headed back to the metro for our ride back to the hotel. While in the Metro waiting on our train Jon Zavracky commented "I used to get excited about riding trains and subways. Now it's just a way of life". Yep - I would agree.

Mrs. Mynatt's last minute late night instructions began with a "Tomorrow is going to be a busy day..." as all the kids laughed out loud and said "that's what you say about EVERY day!"

Yes, tomorrow is the Chateaux de Versailles, Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Galleries Lafayette and probably 15 more destinations that I can't remember while I sit here and type at 1:15am.  I think I'll sign out now and get ready for in the morning.

PS - Mr's Mynatt says for the parents to check on the phone bills because it seems those global phones are in CONSTANT use :-)

Good night.

  3. do you have any new Frenchies after they ate crepes? I know Europe 2010 was when I was talked into it--and so glad I was!

  5. So, which one was more enjoyable: London, or Rome?
